Distribution:
Montpellier Snake has a western and an eastern distribution. The nominate form is found from North Italy and Southern France, the Iberian peninsula and Northwest Africa, and the subspecies insignitus from Yugoslavia, the southern part of Balkan to Southwest Asia.
